3 ways to make money on Sorare
Want to generate a profit on Sorare outside of standard SO5 play? Here are three different ways you can approach the Sorare ecosystem to generate a profit..
- Trade the transfer/move
Maybe you know of a reasonably good player, they had a dream move a few years ago to one of the big clubs, but since then they have not broken through to the first team. The player is stuck in the reserves with no chance of any scoring in Sorare resulting in their card losing value.
You have faith that the player won’t want to stay in the reserves and will clamour for a move. You buy the card and a few months later, they secure a move to another Sorare team but are now first choice — preferably in a league where they will score well.
Players will usually be worth more if they are offering utility, so this is a fairly well established strategy within Sorare. The trick is to be early. Even in the above buying pattern, after news broke of a player move, prices shot up, but those that were buying in the frenzy potentially lost money as prices then fell slightly again. To profit from this, you need to be very quick, or you will need to take a risk on a transfer occurring before it is finalised.
2. Buy low, sell high
There are a number of managers on Sorare who need to free up funds or want to sell their gallery. Trying to sell all players at their market value can be painful, so a number of users act as traders, offering a % of their normal market value, and then reselling later on.
This strategy works if you can be patient with the sales, and pick up cards at the right discount. However its a competitive field and can be quite cumbersome to list cards repeatedly until they sell (although you could use our bulk listing and offers tool..).
3. Trade on form
Players can hit big peaks in their season which see their scores rise considerably in a short timeframe and their prices soon follow once FOMO sets in and other users want the player in their lineups.
This can be a challenging approach within Sorare as form can be unpredictable. It requires degree of luck to hit a player before they hit a good run. However, you can look at runs of upcoming fixtures, and generally, the eye test during games, to identify those who may be able to pick up a good sequence of points.
